In an interview with NewsWatch Sports, the chairman of Sierra Football Club, Ibrahim Conteh, has intimated his team’s readiness to ‘pull the strings’ and gain qualification to the country’s second tier (Division 1) competition in its first attempt.
Sierra Football Club (SFC) is a Western Area Football Association (WAFA) affiliated Division Two outfit established in 2019 with an aim of helping young football talents realise their potentials.
Ibrahim Conteh revealed his team’s readiness for the Western Area Football Association (WAFA) division two showpiece which will commence in a fortnight.
“The team the boys to be specific have been readied for the past two years through rigorous training sessions and friendly matches”, he said.
He furthered that his aim and that of the entire team’s executive is to see the team gain promotion to the Sierra Leone Premier League in subsequent years.
“Our aim as a team is to get to the top of Sierra Leone football i.e. the Sierra Leone Premier League”, he noted.
He added that, with the output he saw from the boys in training and friendly matches the team normally engages on, he is optimistic of qualification to Division One (1) in its first attempt.
“I highly believe we can make it to the division one stage at the end of the league. The performances I have seen from the boys during training and friendly matches gave me course to believe”, he optimistically said.
He concluded by revealing that, the team will be unveiling its jerseys (both home and away) to football stakeholders and fans in the coming week.
