MOS Approves 8 Sporting Disciplines Ahead Of 2019 All Africa Games In Morocco
According to the Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of Sports, Eric Batilo Fomba, the Ministry of Sports has approved eight (8) sporting disciplines for the All Africa Games, which will be hosted in Morocco in August 2019.
He said that they are hoping that they will represent the country well and bring more Laurels home.
Mr. Batlo Fomba said the Ministry of Sports verified and approved the following sporting associations to represent Sierra Leone in this year’s All Africa Games scheduled to take place in Rabat, Morocco from 16th-31st August 2019 they are as follows.
1. Beach Volleyball
5. Lawn Tennis
The President of Sierra Leone Karate Federation(SLKF), Master Victor Amara expressed delight and appreciation to the Ministry of Sports for their commitment, adding that they would do their best to win significant medals for the country.
He said they are well prepared to showcase their talents and abilities in the forthcoming tournament.
Secretary General of Sierra Leone Swimming Association, Mohamed Turay said the Ministry has made tremendous efforts for them to contest in this year’s All Africa Games in Morocco, though there was a slight delay in the area of selection of sporting disciplines due to financial challenges, adding that they are happy to represent the country at all levels.
“We have been representing the country in other international competitions although this will be different because much is expected of us” he concluded.
