One of Sierra Leone’s top female music artists, Star Zee, alongside the DOZ–KABAAL team has donated baby toys , baby clothes and other items worth millions of Leones to less privileged children and lactating mothers, after she made an unannounced visit to the former refugee camp in Kissy town, on Tuesday the 5th March 2019. The residents of Kissy town were taken by surprise when Star Zee and Team arrived in the community.
Speaking to NewsWatch entertainment, the popular musician said the donation was to demonstrate to the people of Waterloo that she thinks about them and feels their pains and her gesture is to show them that they are not alone in this time of struggle.
Star Zee also encouraged the lactating mothers to send their grown up children to school and also take good care of them as they are the future of Sierra Leone.
Upon receiving the donation from Star Zee, residents of Kissy town spoke about the numerous challenges they are faced with in Waterloo, ranging from poor livelihood facilities, lack of electricity in the camp and the need for the camp to be fenced to ensure good security and safety as intruders always stream into the camp and cause problems.
In her response, Star Zee also donated ten (10) bags of cement for the fencing project.
” I feel compelled to do everything that I can to assist the less privileged. We must come together as individuals, government, philanthropists and Artists as one in nurturing and developing Kids” She opined.
She encouraged all the children present to take their education seriously, no matter the difficulties they are facing today and believe that with hard work and prayers things would be better for them one day . She appealed to them to work hard to change the lives of their mothers, fathers and family members and for the good of the country as a whole.
