Sierra Leone’s multi talented Afro Pop singer, Markmuday has been thrown out of the Kabaka Multimedia and Entertainment [KME] group. This was confirmed to the media by the CEO of KME, Lawyer Abu Bakarr Turay aka Kabaka. He told the media that he took a personal decision to dismiss him from the label but failed to state why.
Kabaka expressed his dissatisfaction with what he referred to as ‘malicious damage’ on a story published by one Prezo Koroma, which claimed that most KME artist weren’t signed in money terms and that they can leave anytime they wish.
‘’Markmuday did not leave KME, I drove him out of KME for reasons best known to me. He was a good guy but we have rules and regulations at KME. He will remain my brother but not as my artist.’’ Kabaka said.
When the news of Markmuday leaving KME broke out on social media, it left many music lovers in pain.
Presently there are nine artists under the KME record label. They include Ragga Spice, Blesz, Kracktwist, Samza, Melinda Hudroge, Rozzy, MIC, ITribe, and Future.
Markmuday was signed to the country’s best label with a couple of other artist about a year ago, and he has been the label’s leading vocalist so far, with many awards on his shelf, including the 2018 SLeDU and NEA awards. KME fans will surely miss Markmuday if things remain the same.
