The Management of the Mighty Blackpool Football Club has revealed 30 players that will be registered for the long waited Premier League in Sierra Leone. Speaking during the training season at the Stadium Practicing Field, the Head Coach of the club, Abu Sankoh has told News Watch newspaper that over 50 players were part of the training, but noted that only 30 were fortune to be selected for this year’s premier league.
He said that the deadline of registration for players was on the 10th January 2019, adding that all registrations were done in line with the football regulations for players and the football regulatory mandate of the Sierra Leone Premier League Board ( SLPLB)
Sankoh assured the fans and executive of Mighty Blackpool that the team has the pedigree and capacity to win the upcoming Premier League because of the good attitude and commitment of the players, and added that former players of the club are strongly willing to join the club for the commencement of the league.
In his closing remarks, he said that the Mighty Blackpool Football Club will open the league with their arch rivals, East End Lions later in January 2019 at the Siaka Steven Stadium in Freetown and noted that during their previous encounter at the Tangains Gala Festival, they ended in a goalless draw within the 90 minutes, whilst the East End Lions on the other side of the coin won on post goal penalty kicks.
Meanwhile, sources from the camp disclosed that the team will soon return to their normal training ground at KT Field, Kingtom in Freetown.
